The Department of Geoinformatics has many years of experience in organising national and international conferences - the GIS Symposium in Ostrava, the GISáček student conference, etc. We regularly meet with students at the GeoScuk event, and we also organise seminars and trainings.
We have organised the GIS Ostrava Symposium since 1994. Starting in 2014, proceedings have been published by Springer as part of the Lecture Notes Geoinformation and Cartography Series.
Conference for bachelor's and master's students organized since 1998. It is exceptionally prepared in English, like the one in the year 2017. This conference is arranged annually for students from the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Informal meeting of teachers, students, and fans of Geoinformatics. Since 2015, it has been organized a few times per year. Our international students are welcome to take part in it as well (the terms of the meetings are published on this page).
