The department operates in the field of geoinformatics and geoinformation technologies, where it provides courses in the field of Geoinformatics (study programme Geodesy, Cartography and Geoinformatics) in the bachelor (Bc.), the follow-up master's (Ing.) and doctoral degrees (Ph.D.). The bachelor's, follow-up master's and doctoral studies of Geoinformatics, which are fully taught in English, are also accredited.
In the area of basic and applied research, we deal mainly with spatial analyses in socio-economic geography (especially transport and crime), global navigation satellite systems and the use of geoinformation technologies in emergency management.
