The department is a guarantor of the study programme Geological Engineering and the study program Geoscience and Industrial Tourism.
Geological Engineering
The study is focused on education of experts in the field of hydrogeology, engineering geology, applied mineralogy and petrography, environmental geochemistry, economic geology, exploration techniques including applied geophysics and drilling. Students will complete subjects of a scientific and technical nature, which will enable them to quickly adapt to related and interdisciplinary fields.
Graduate will find employment in geological, exploration and mining organizations, in companies engaged in exploration and documentation work in the field of engineering-geological and geotechnical problems, water protection and use, use of earth heat, oil and natural gas extraction and underground gas storage, etc.
Geoscience and Industrial Tourism
The aim of the study programme is to educate graduates who will systematically participate in the development of tourism in the Czech Republic, especially oriented towards the natural environment, natural resources, mountainous and technical monuments after acquiring basic socio-scientific, scientific, technical, economic, organizational and linguistic knowledge. Graduates can work as independent specialists in the organization and promotion of tourism and as organizers and guides of tourism specializing in non-living nature and exploitation of natural resources.
